Abstract
Statistics Indonesia has carried out data collection on Village Potential (Podes) 2024 in May 2024 in a census of all regency/municipalities, sub-districts, and the lowest government administrative areas at the village level. The village-level administrative areas covered by Podes include villages, kelurahan, nagari in West Sumatra, the Transmigration Settlement Unit (UPT), and the Transmigration Settlement Unit (SPT) which are still being fostered by the relevant ministries. The results of the 2024 Podes data collection in Banyumas Regency recorded that there were 1 regency/municipality podes, 27 district podes, 30 sub-district podes and 301 village podes.Podes 2024 collects a variety of information, both those are potential for villages/sub-district, information related to vulnerabilities or challenges faced by villages/sub-district, and basic infrastructure in village/sub-district. Information related to the potential of the village/sub-district includes: demography and employment, settlement and environment, education, health, socio-culture, sports and entertainment, transportation, communication and information, economy, security, development and empowerment of the village/sub-district community. Information related to vulnerabilities or challenges includes natural disasters, environmental pollution, social and health problems in the community, and security disturbances that occur in villages/sub-district. Infrastructure information in villages/sub-district includes: education, health and economic infrastructure.The results of Podes 2024 shows that most of the villages/sub-district in Banyumas Regency in Fisheries165 villages/sub-district have people working in Agriculture, Forestry, dan. In addition, there are 126 villages/ sub-district where most of people work in the wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicle and motorcycles and there are 27 villages/sub-district where most of the people work in manufacturing indystry. Most of people work in construction in 10 villages/sub-district and there are 3 sub-district have most people working in the field providing accomodation, food, and drink.Of the 331 villages/sub-districts in Banyumas Regency, there are 326 villages/sub-districts that have rivers, there are 93 villages/sub-districts that use rivers for bathing/washing residents. There are 7 rivers that are used as sources of drinking/cooking water. The use of rivers for raw materials for drinking water is in 2 villages while in 305 villages/sub-districts the use of rivers for irrigation or agricultural land irrigation. The use of rivers for tourism is in 17 villages/sub-districts. And there are 131 villages/sub-districts that use rivers for fisheries.Podes 2024 shows the economic potential of villages/sub-district, there are 168 villages/sub-district that have superior goods products and as many as 25 villages/sub-district that export their superior products to other countries. In supporting the movement of the economy, it is not only supported by physical facilities, but the supportof credit facilities and telecommunication network facilities are important nowadays so that economic growth can be carried out faster. The results of Podes 2024 show that 329 villages/sub-district have People’s Business Credit (KUR), 96 villages/sub-district have Joint Business Credit (KUBE), 98 villages/sub-district have Small Business Credit (KUK). The telecommunication network facilities covered by the Podes include the presence of a Base Transceiver Station (BTS), cellular phone signals, and cellular/mobile phone internet signals. There are 223 villages/sub-district that have BTS, with 78 villages/sub-district have very strong cellular phone signal strength, 236 villages/sub-district have strong signal strength and 17 villages/sub-district have weak signal strength.Podes 2024 noted that there were 74 villages/sub-district where water pollution occurred in their territory, and there were 26 villages/sub-district where air pollution occurred in their territory. In addition to pollution incidents, Podes 2024 shows natural disasters in the village/sub-district area, of which 87 villages/sub-district experienced landslides in their area, and 36 villages/sub-district experienced floods in its territory. Besides that 32 villages/sub-district experienced flash floods, 43 villages/sub-district experienced typhoon/cyclone and 3 villages/ sub-district experienced forest and land fires in their territory.Podes 2024 also provides various information related to the availability of infrastructure in various fields. In the field of education, at the elementary school level, it is known that there are 757 public and 58 private elementary schools, and 3 public and 195 private MI spread across villages/sub-district in Banyumas Regency. At the junior high school level, there are 71 public and 97 private junior high schools and 3 public and 65 private MTs spread across villages/sub-district in Banyumas Regency. At the high school level, there are 15 public and 25 private SMA, 3 public and 28 private MA, 10 public and 75 private SMK spread across villages/sub- district in Banyumas Regency. At the academy/college level, there are 3 public academies/universities and there are 21 private academies/universities in Banyumas Regency. In the health sector, Podes 2024 shows that there are 25 hospitals in Banyumas Regency. In addition to hospitals, the number of Banyumas Regency Public Health Center (Puskesmas) facilities based on the 2024 Podes is 15 inpatient health centers and 26 health centers without hospitalization.The government prioritizes Indonesia’s development from the periphery by strengthening regions and villages within the framework of a unitary state. The results of Podes 2024 can be used as material for regional analysis related to the economic, social and regional facilities/infrastructure potential. In addition, it can also be used in program evaluation and used in the formulation of regional-based policies/strategies.
